Our History

The Round Rock Woman's Club was organized in 1966 in Round Rock, Texas. The idea for the club began when Marge Sheffield invited a group of women to initiate a book club. At that time, the town of Round Rock had a population of around 2000. The women who gathered in 1966 decided our small town could really benefit from a woman's service organization instead. Our goal was to provide service with some social activities included. The first service project was to place brightly decorated trash cans on downtown street corners in Round Rock. Round Rock now has a population of almost 93,000 and hundreds of projects have developed since that time.

Club Prayer

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy Sight O Lord, my strength and my redeemer."
Psalm 19:14

Our Purpose

The purpose of Round Rock Woman's Club shall be the furthering of any interests that pertain to the enrichment of women's lives, and its membership to be actively engaged in community participation and service.

A Collect for Club Women

Keep us, Oh God, from pettiness;
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault-finding
and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense
and meet each other face to face.
Without self-pity and without prejudice.
And always generous.

Let us take time for all things;
Make us to grow calm, serene, gentle.

Teach us to put into action our better impulses
Straight-foward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize it is
The little things that create differences,
That in the big things of life we are at one.

And may we strive to touch and to know the great,
common human heart of us all.
And, oh Lord God, let us forget not
To be Kind!
